INDIVIDUALLY TAILORED & TRUSTED COLLEGE COUNSELING
Dedicated Support and Advocacy for Students
- Dedicated and comprehensive support for you and your student. Imagine having someone who you and your student can contact, day or evening, to answer all of your college questions as they arise! You will have access to Yvonne Espinoza’s personal cell phone and receive prompt responses to all communication through the duration of your contract. You and your family will have an expert to rely on from 8am to 9pm, Monday through Sunday.
- Decreased tension in the student-parent relationship through additional support of a professional and highly trained 3rd party to communicate with your student one-on-one about college, and separately with parents to keep them informed. Meetings with Yvonne will help your student to feel more confident in the process, and also allow parents to entrust their student to work independently with a professional expert.
- To allow for student independence, all one-on-one college counseling sessions with the student take place virtually in a Zoom room without parents present. Yvonne encourages parent input by being accessible to meet and communicate with parents regularly. This approach allows the student to take more ownership of the process, which colleges both expect and appreciate.
- Yvonne has found that even the students who did not enjoy virtual learning during COVID are more comfortable meeting virtually for one-on-one advising, which does not compromise any of the personal connection formed in college counseling. Yvonne's students have more flexibility to meet with her because of the virtual format (allowing her to meet with students as late as 8pm when needed) and this format also creates more productivity through screen-sharing.
- Decreased stress during this important journey with regular support outside of school- Yvonne Espinoza is an empathetic guide who provides encouragement, support and time management counseling to make this process less overwhelming, and to help students to understand how to prioritize the numerous steps in this process. Yvonne is an advocate for your student and her services add an extra layer of moral support to provide transparency that offsets the pressure and ambiguity that can accompany college admissions.
Whether a student has a 4.5 or a 3.0 GPA, ALL students and families benefit from receiving the consistent guidance and support of a highly trained, expert advocate. Yvonne's clientele prefer an individualized experience, as opposed to working with a larger company who assigns them to multiple people throughout the process, or has a blanket approach of pre-set deadlines and steps in place that apply to all clientele.
Yvonne also has experience working closely with clients who are public figures in the community and guarantees both personalization and confidentiality for each client. As a student-centered college counselor, she individualizes tasks and timelines according to each student's personal schedule, academic calendar, and college aspirations.

Parental Support
The families Yvonne Espinoza works with are productive, talented people already juggling a multitude of responsibilities and commitments in their lives. Adding the numerous (yet important) steps that accompany the college application process can feel like taking on another full-time job for parents and guardians. Even stay-at-home or retired parents contact Yvonne when realizing that the college planning journey is another full-time job, and entrusting it to an experienced and caring professional will make the process easier for both the student and parents, alike. Working with Yvonne ensures:
Yvonne is also available to parents throughout the course of the student's college journey to answer questions and provide guidance on a one-on-one basis. Providing services for parents without the student present allows parents to have all of their questions answered and concerns addressed outside of their relationship with their student, resulting in less pressure and anxiety for all involved. Working with a college counseling professional extensively trained to work with adolescents can help to alleviate the strain of college from the student-parent relationship and allow for the family to enjoy those last pre-college years more fully.

Access to Up-to-Date Information, Resources, and Guidance
Yvonne personally remembers receiving an envelope in the mail during the Fall of her senior year of high school that contained a floppy disk with her college application on it and being impressed with that technology. Times certainly have changed since then!
Students and parents now have so much more access to college information than ever before, but it can be hard to know where to start or how to filter through the flood of college emails and websites that are out there. The college application process itself is very different now, as well, with various types of online applications (Common Application, Coalition Application, GoApplyTexas, University of California Application etc.), virtual admission counselor visits, interviews, and some deadlines as early as October 15th!
