Visiting colleges is an important aspect of the college counseling profession which allows counselors to speak with admissions officers, connect with other college counseling professionals, and gain firsthand perspective about colleges and their surrounding areas. Throughout Yvonne Espinoza's 20 years in college counseling, she have been selected to attend over 150 invitation-only counselor programs to spend multiple days at various colleges both nationally and internationally and learn about admissions, financial aid, special programs, and the cities they are housed in.
